Ask a Skeptical Diviner is an advice column with a twist: You submit your questions, then I'll use tarot (and maybe some oracle) cards as a guide to offer insights, fresh angles, and potential paths forward. The column will hit your inbox every other week.
My hope is that this will be a space where we can use tarot to challenge assumptions, consider alternative viewpoints, and navigate through moments when we’re feeling stuck. It isn't about predicting the future or tapping into the supernatural; it's about sparking new ways of thinking and encouraging self-reflection. It's about finding new ways to be present with what is.
You can also send in your own readings that you'd like assistance interpreting. When reading for ourselves, sometimes it can feel like we're too invested in the situation we're reading about to interpret the cards objectively, or maybe there's just one card in your spread that doesn't seem to be telling the same story as the others. Getting a little outside perspective can be just the spark you need to get the interpretive ball rolling again.
How it works
You do have to be subscribed to submit questions.
(Duh! How will you know when your question gets answered if you aren't subscribed?!)
It's anonymous-ish
Your email address is used to verify that you're subscribed, but I’ll never share it with anyone, and you’re welcome to use an alias instead of your real name when you submit your question.
Here are some guidelines for framing your question.
including some disclaimers, like the fact that I do not provide legal, medical, or financial advice.

Whether you're a tarot enthusiast or a curious skeptic, "Ask a Skeptical Diviner" is for everyone. I look forward to holding space for your questions and exploring the cards with you all. My hope is that this column will be a little less prescriptive than your typical “advice” column, and more of an example of how tarot can be used to expand our perspective, even when we might feel like we’ve already considered every option or aspect of a situation.
